So a strange series of events led to me getting the perfect present for Rich's birthday. For as long as I have known him Rich has had a boarderline obession with Richard Herring (from fist of fun and TMWRNJ) for those of you too young to remeber those he's a comedian. Anyway here is the strange series of events that lead to rich's present....

I had my first Dave Gorman dream for about a year (somehow my subconcious has rather fallen out with him, not sure what he did in my dream to make this happen but obviously something). Anyway when I woke up I decided I'd best have a look at his website (http://www.davegorman.com/) to see if there was anything exciting going on (which there wasn't really) but I stumbled across his blog and started reading that. There was an entry about him going on Richard and Judy to talk about the blogs he read, one of the blogs he read was the blog of Richard Herring (http://www.richardherring.co.uk/warmingup/). This lead me to thinking, I've not seen that so I clicked on the link and then lost the next 3 hours reading the whole of August in his blog.

After reading August I decided to look at the link at the bottom of the entries for his programme fund, which linked me to his just giving page for SCOPE (http://www.justgiving.com/menageaun/) so from looking there I wondered if there was anyway I could get him to sighn a programme for Rich's Birthday.

Now you've got to love the internet! I emailed Richard Herring to ask fully expecting to hear back in a couple of weeks or not at all. anyway a couple of hours later I had a really nice email back telling me to donate to the fund and email him my address and he's send some stuff. That was yesterday. Today the stuff came! It's fancastic and is all personalised for Rich so he'll know I didn't just buy it from Ebay!

If you get the chance please read Richard Herring's Blog it's really good (far better than this one will ever be, but then again I'm not a professional commedien and writer, hey you pay your money and take your choice) and if you get a chace to see him live please book tickets I've not heard a bad report about his shows (from my friends who've seen him every year for the last 3 at the Edinburgh Festival) and I fully intend to go when he plays Sheffield in December.

Other than that my day has consited of 4 (count 'em) FOUR trips to Tesco! How exciting is my life?
